Today I took a drive out to Butler’s Mill in Jackson County, AL which is located about 6 miles from downtown Woodville, AL. At one time it served as a processing plant for grinding corn and wheat into meal and flour. The process was powered by a water wheel type turbine that came from the Paint Rock River.

I stopped at the store and had me a good ole’ bologna sandwich. They make the best bologna and cheese sandwiches and the price was not to high. I purchased 3 sandwiches, 3 bags of chips, and 3 drinks and it was $7.55. Wow! What a deal!

This year the prom was held at the Carrollton Event Center in Scottsboro, AL on Saturday March 22, 2008. They worked hard all year to make this a successful event. The decorations and food was provided by “Talk of the Town”. The colors were hot pink, silver and black. The theme was “Take My Breathe Away”.There were 22 seniors, 36 juniors, 19 dates and 10 faculty members present, and a Scottsboro policewoman was on duty.

For the very first time, parents were invited to attend the prom. They were asked to stay in the roped off area and watched until the lead out was over. Also they had sophomore prom assistants in which they wore black pants and white shirts, and ties.

Pictures began at 7:00 p.m. The prom ended with the last dance at 11:00 p.m. Only a few couples were left. Clean up was provided by “Talk of the Town” crew.

On March 15, 2008 we got some high winds, rain and hail. It lasted about 2 minutes or so, and then it moved out. There was some parts all around in the different surrounding counties that got damage from the hail. Everyone should check their roofs, gutters, HVAC unit to make sure there is not any damage, and if you think so call your insurance company and get a adjuster to come out and check for any damages. Here is some pictures of the hail.

I realized that my life was not so bad after all compared to some. It really was a eye opening experience for me. The pay was only $10 a day, and nickel a mile. Of course though if you work for employer they reimburse you back your normal pay for that day. Unfortunately I don’t have a employer because I am self-employed.

It is almost time for Spring Break in Jackson County, AL. Spring Break will start March 17-21 2008. At least the weather man is giving nice weather for the kids. This year we are not planning on going on vacation for Spring Break. With the gas prices, and the economy not the greatest we decided to save our money and spend it wisely in the next several months.

I am sure people are still planning on traveling and taking their vacations despite the gas prices. Most people don’t think about saving until it is to late.
